Imagination Carries People Over Mountains

Your possibilities reach as far as your eyes can see… and even farther.

Our imaginations can carry us over mountains of obstacles… if used right.

We live in a world where everything is possible. Forge ahead and reach beyond your goals. The stake of life is in the heart and the determination that comes from it.

By the glow of the lamp I write in my journal… and reminisce.

Every closed door I encountered, each “no” I received, every disappointment and trial –God meant it for good. If you persist, if you continue, if you try again and then again, you will be the victor. The prizes of life are not only in the beginning of your journey, they are also close to the end. Because you have lived longer and are much wiser, your prizes change, the value of everyday treasures becomes greater. Living long enough to know that riches and society do not completely satisfy. But the hug of a little child, the whisper of prayer and thanksgiving satisfies and lifts your soul to the heights.

Continue onward and upward, take one more step and you will find as I have found, “Ask and it will be given to you, seek and you shall find knock and the door will be opened.” – Matthew 7:7.

We all have been blessed with many wonderful talents. It is the day of discovery so begin now to permeate your life with love and give that treasure out to the world. Discover who you are. You are unique to God and have something very special to offer to others. Don’t let anything dampen your spirit. Have confidence in your ability and capacity to achieve.

I once read about the awesome American portrait painter John Singer Sargent. His critics, who criticized his works for making his subjects seem more beautiful than they thought they were, praised one of his smaller works, a painting of a panel of roses.

Sargent was offered great sums of money for this piece but he refused to sell it. Why? Because whenever the artist was discouraged or doubtful of his abilities he would look at his painting and say to himself, “I painted this.” His confidence would then return. Sargent became the chosen portrait artist of presidents’ wives and the wealthy and famous.

People will criticize you, so you might as well decide what you want to be criticized about. Others will laugh and scorn you, but ignore them, while your love projects and brings about your desired goal.

This is your life, why settle for the mediocre? Why just follow the crowd? A life filled with love and appreciation is the only life worth living.

Be prepared to work hard at it. There is no easy ride to the throne. A poet wrote, “Must I be carried to heaven on a flowery bed of ease? While others fought to win the prize and sailed on bloody seas.” Turn defeats into victories by much prayer, humbleness and patience. You can control your attitude toward circumstances. Choose the word “will ” over “won’t.”

It is never too late to become someone great in God’s eyes. But the way up is down – down on your knees. Present your hearts desire to Him and consider your motivation, attitude and objective. Ask God to let His gift, that He put in you, be expressed to its fullest and highest.

Dare to look toward triumph; set forth to achieve it today.

Remember there is only one thing we take out of this world, that is our character. And what we have become, in that realm, determines our value here and our destination there.
